英语学习展“枫”彩，本学期丰富多彩的周三英语持续开展。海枫小学英语中心在4月11日举行了本学期的第二次周三英语日，参与本次周三英语日活动的是五年级的孩子们。

English Wednesday was held to encourage and inspire students' enthusiasm for speaking English. On April 10th, the English Center of MLIS - Hainan Elementary School organized an English Wednesday for Grade5. 

本学期的周三英语日我们将统一主题：传播中国发明之“枫”，每个年级将介绍一个中国发明。本次五年级孩子们给我们介绍的是“剪纸”。孩子们绘画了精美的手抄报和思维导图，在活动中和同学们分享自己的作品，并用语言描述剪纸的来源。这次活动不仅让孩子们学会分享，也锻炼了他们的口语表达能力，激发他们的英语学习兴趣，为学生提供了运用英语的机会，搭建了展示的舞台。

The theme of this English Wednesday is “Chinese invention”. Students prepared posters or mind maps about “Chinese Paper Cutting”. During the activity, they showed and shared their creations with their peers and told the origin of the kite in their own words. Students learned in the sharing, which gradually increased their interest in English. 

Chinese paper cutting, also known as Jianzhi(剪纸),is a traditional folk art that has been practiced for centuries. It involves using scissors or knives to cut intricate designs out of paper, creating delicate and beautiful works of art. 

中国剪纸，又称剪纸，是一种源远流长的民间艺术。它使用剪刀或刀片在纸上剪出精细的图案，创造出精致而美丽的艺术作品。

The art of paper cutting is deeply rooted in Chinese culture and holds significant symbolic meanings. It is often associated with celebrations and festivals, where paper cuttings are used as decorations to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits.

剪纸艺术深深扎根于中国文化，具有重要的象征意义。它常常与庆祝活动和节日相关联，剪纸作为装饰品被用来带来好运和驱逐邪恶的灵气。

Chinese paper cutting designs are diverse and can depict a wide range of subjects, including flowers, animals, mythical creatures, and auspicious symbols, Each design is carefully crafted, with intricate patterns and details that showcase the artist's skill and creativity.

中国剪纸设计多样，可以描绘各种主题，包括花卉、动物、神话生物和古祥符号。每个设计都经过精心制作，具有复杂的图案和细节，展示了艺术家的技巧和创造力。

Chinese paper cutting not only showcases the artistic talent of the creators but also serves as a means of cultural preservation. It carries the traditions, beliefs, and stories of the Chinese people, passing them down through generations.

中国剪纸不仅展示了创作者的艺术才华，还作为一种文化保护手段。它承载着中国人的传统、信仰和故事，代代相传。

本次周三英语活动日共包含3个部分。

The English Wednesday consists of 3 parts.

学生们提前准备好一幅关于“剪纸”的海报或思维导图。

Students used the weekend to prepare posters or mind map of Chinese Paper Cutting. 

老师在活动中向学生们介绍“剪纸”的起源，并在黑板上呈现。大家都在聚精会神地听，并积极地参与到活动中，让我们一起看一看吧！

Teacher Introduce the origin of Chinese Paper Cutting to students in class. We saw their love for English from their sharing. 

老师们组织学生围绕“剪纸”话题进行对话讨论，问题参考如下：

通过周三英语日活动，不仅锻炼了孩子们的口语表达，还让学生们了解了中国传统的剪纸文化。爱上英语，勇敢地用英语去交流和表达自己的想法，下次活动我们不见不散！
